Graduate Small Grant Support

The Department is pleased to announce the availability of small grants for WGSS graduate students to aid in dissertation or master's thesis research support. Each MA or pre-candidacy Ph.D. graduate student in WGSS is eligible to receive up to $150 towards supplies or software related to their master’s thesis or pre-dissertation research or to be used for professional development. The Gee Research Grants should be pursued by post-candidacy students (ABD) seeking larger research funds. The purpose of these grants is to provide support as you prepare for your MA thesis or Ph.D. prospectus. Funds for travel should still be obtained through the WGSS travel grant process.

To apply, please submit a brief proposal (100-250 words) and budget below explaining how this purchase contributes to your project. You may apply any time as there are no deadlines for this support. These grants are cumulative so you may apply more than once but may not exceed $150 per student.

Please note that if funds are used to purchase equipment, it must be returned to the department per university rules.

If you have any questions, please contact Rebekah Sims (sims.412@osu.edu).
