This two-day, in-person event is an opportunity for graduate students engaged in feminist scholarship to advance in their academic writing. The event will take place Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Research Commons in the 18th Avenue Library.  The Summer Writing Retreat provides a quiet space to work, structured writing time, breakfast and lunch, and an encouraging, motivating community. The event will also feature a panel discussion on writing practices and strategies with feminist scholars from different disciplines.  The FREE Center asks that participating graduate students commit to attending both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Graduate students who are teaching or taking synchronous courses are welcome to step out during class times. All participants should be engaged in feminist scholarship and working on academic writing projects (doctoral dissertation, master’s thesis, article, book chapter, etc.).  Registration is required. The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 8.
