Matthew Marciello is an M.A. student and Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. They are an interdisciplinary critical humanities scholar and aspiring professor whose work combines sociocultural history with critical theory. His research explores how constructions and processes of queerness and queering, race and racialization, and medical deviance and medicalization under a broad banner of “sexology” have shaped the United States and various marginalized people and communities.
