Thaís Lopez-Espinoza is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Associate at the Ohio State University in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is an interdisciplinary scholar trained in social sciences methodologies with an emphasis in qualitative methods.

After researching the experiences of young women in abusive relationships in Peru, she is currently exploring Black women's ventures in indie pornography, looking into sexual empowerment and self-determination through erotic work.
